Programme overview:

This programme will help you build the professional knowledge and skills needed to support the delivery of content for TV or radio shows.

Working as part of a production team you’ll be involved in developing and pitching new programme ideas then helping to deliver them through to completion. Productions may cover a variety of genres including factual, daytime, light entertainment, drama, comedy, documentary and current affairs.

Key learning outcomes:

  • Researching and developing creative ideas and concepts for a TV/Radio production
  • Presenting persuasive ideas, pitches and proposals for TV/Radio productions
  • Working within a budget allocation for a production
  • Identifying and sourcing resources for a TV/Radio production including equipment, crew and existing media assets
  • Understanding legislation that may apply to cast and crew on productions, including health and safety, licenses, working time directive
  • Creating content for productions, including writing and editing scripts and cues, capturing images and recording audio
  • Evaluating the success of TV/Radio productions and identifying areas for improvement for future productions

Qualifications and certification:

Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) level 3 apprenticeship certification
