In the heart of Stockport, Greater Manchester, a small but vibrant community hub has made a big impact, thanks to the unwavering dedication of a group of volunteers.
One of which is Clare Ramsbottom, a cherished delivery tutor at Seetec Training.
For the past four years, Clare has been the driving force behind the volunteering efforts at the local ‘Feeding the Community‘ hub, spreading warmth and kindness in the true spirit of community.
A weekly feast of compassion
Every week, Clare and her fellow volunteers come together to make a difference.
They’ve become a beacon of hope, delivering over 400 hot meals to those in need. The smiles on the faces of the recipients are proof of the power of community and compassion.
Beyond meals: the gift of joy
But Clare’s generosity extends beyond nourishing meals.
At Christmas, she’d join hands with the team to ensure that everyone in the community feels the spirit of the season.
With heartfelt joy, they gift Christmas presents to those who may be facing challenges during the festive season, bringing light and cheer where it’s needed most.
In December 2022, Clare became a committee member of the charity and says, “It has been my absolute honour to work with the best people, in the best community, where I live.
“I’ve enjoyed every second, volunteering in Stockport, and can’t thank Seetec enough for allowing me to help out.
“And for contributing every year via their Community Fund.”
The lifeline of donations:
The ‘Feeding the Community’ hub thrives on the support of the local community.
Donations from supermarkets, the Women’s Institute, faith groups, and various agencies keep the hub running smoothly.
Seetec has been inspired by Clare’s commitment and has been a proud contributor to this worthy cause every year since she began her volunteering journey.
It’s a testament to our value of ‘putting ourselves in other people’s shoes.’
Seetec’s commitment to community
At Seetec, we take immense pride in supporting individuals like Clare who selflessly contribute to causes close to their hearts.
As part of our commitment to community service, we offer every colleague two volunteering days each year.
This empowers our team to make a positive impact on the world around them, whilst continuing to embody our values away from the working day.
Join us in applauding Clare and all our colleagues at Seetec who contribute to meaningful causes, and let’s continue to spread the spirit of volunteerism far and wide.
