Blue Light Development Academy
Are you a blue light worker? Are you feeling the stress of work? Do you want to learn new skills but just too busy?
You can now benefit from a range of FULLY FUNDED training which will help you build your knowledge, skills, and confidence at work, and improve your overall mental health and well-being.
We have a variety of courses available, from Beat the Burnout which helps with stress, anxiety, and depression through to Team Leader and academic courses where you gain a nationally recognised qualification at level 3 or above.
Whether you want to improve your career prospects, update your skills, or learn new ones, we’ll support you with personalised bite-size training that is manageable with a demanding job. We can even help you with further training if you want to gain an Emergency Medical Technician apprenticeship or Paramedic degree apprenticeship.
Our courses are funded through Greater Manchester Combined Authority’s Skills for Growth initiative, so there is no cost to you.

- Presentation skills
- Understanding Health in the Workplace for Managers
- ‘Beat the Burnout’ resilience and well-being
- Academic and study skills
- Ambassador training
- Bespoke leadership and management
- Inclusivity and diversity awareness
- Digital skills
This fully funded training is available if you:
- Are an employee (including support and front-line staff) of an emergency service organisation which includes ambulance, fire and police services.
- Live and work in Greater Manchester, or work for an employer whose trading status is in Greater Manchester.
All our courses are created with inclusivity in mind, and we are particularly keen to support you if you’re female, from a BAME background, are over 50 years old, have a disability, or are from a single adult household with dependents.
